Pals in Norton

Lol Sorry, when a small fastfood restaurant goes up in Atlanta, the reaction isn't the same. This isn't one of those "well it happens everywhere" things, matter of fact I don't remember anything close to this when Lebanon got theirs a few years ago. People act like they haven't ever ate at a **** Pal's before, if it were like a Golden Corral or decent dine-in place, I could maybe understand...but most people have ate at a Pal's dozens of times and there's two 45-hour away. There's a lot of overreaction, it' pretty ridiculous.

One of my parents lives close to Lebanon and when the Pal's went up there, the initial lines were pretty long, backing out almost into the road. Here's a little picture that shows the long line that was forming, similar to how it is in Norton. The road is still several feet behind where this picture was taken, and vehicles formed a continuous, long line at that time:

I don't know if it was quite as packed as this opening in Norton, but the location doesn't help things, either: Literally right below Wal-Mart. When you mix the opening of one of the best fast food restaurants available with the most frequented store chain located immediately above it, horrible traffic is bound to be experienced. It sucks, but **** it's good to have a Pal's right smack dab in Norton. It's been talked about for how many years now? It almost feels as if it still shouldn't have happened, because it was being discussed forever.

Oh yes I remember the line too, I definitely didn't mean to come off as there wasn't a line, there was. I haven't been to Norton's, but from people I've talked to, FB/Myspace statuses it's just beyond ridiculous. That line in the pic looks about what it does when Leb plays at home(though I know it went back further, that's right at the entrance) when the visitor fans stop by...the Mickey D's is just as bad too.

The one in Norton is definitely a bad location, the one in GC isn't too good either, Lebs isn't great but not bad. It's just people acted like this when Sonic was put in, which I personally think that Sonic is absolute ****. I'm glad to have a Pal's, but I won't be getting near there anytime soon, but people will get burnt out on it like anything else. I'm in leb. quite often and I hardly eat at Pal's there, it's not all that great after awhile. I just hate to see what would happen if we get a good restaruant around here, total chaos.

Don't confuse Golden Corral with a good restaurant either.

Never said they were, I said GC or a decent restaurant. Though a GC is a thousand times better than anything we have around here.

I would rather have Pals a million to one over Golden Corral. GC is flat out terrible.

You kidding? The whole huge buffet aspect just eclipses anything we have around here by far, never had a bad meal at a GC, soooooo much food too.

I never said if Pals opened in Atlanta, what I mean is if something new opened in Atlanta, or Chicago, or Boston or Miami relative to what they have there is going to be lines everywhere. If a big city didn't have an Outback the first few weeks and outback is open it is going to be lined out the door. If a Pals goes in in a suburb of a large city I would expect there to be lines and waiting. maybe I'm just wrong but new places to eat, shop, or just go to will always draw a large crowd just to try the new thing.

Have you seen the people coming out of Wal Mart, we don't need an all you can eat buffet like GC. I gotta agree with Stripes too, I would rather have Pal's 1,000,000 to 1 over GC. I wouldn't mind to have a Cracker Barrell though

And as far as the location comment I think it is a great spot. Once the initial "I've never been to Pal's" lines wear down back to a normal size it will be perfect, it is just off the main drag and has a nice entrance and a two way exit for good flow so I see no problem what so ever with it.
